AIT download utility
The AIT allows users to select and download the telephony software components that are needed to create the desired software package for installation. Packages are created from operating system distributions containing the software components available to the user with that distribution. The AIT also provides access to release notes. Instructions on how to use the AIT are contained in the AIT download utility guide.
A user’s login gives access to full release versions of main operating system distributions and telephony software components. It also enables Aculab to supply individual customers with beta and other controlled releases on the AIT. When the AIT is launched and a package selected, it displays new components that are available. This means users can readily identify new releases or updates and decide to download and/or install the new components accordingly.
Usefully, the AIT also makes available more than one version of a given telephony software component, which allows customers to readily roll back to a previous version of a component if they find they need to. Since a number of versions of each component are available, packages containing specific component versions can be defined. This is done using package template files and means that customers will always be able to recreate defined packages from Aculab’s server. Aculab defined packages can also be made available as templates.
Additionally, delta packages enable customers to create update packages and readily distribute them onto different machines. That means customers can create delta packages containing only the upgraded components, instead of having to install a complete new package.
